There are a lot of things that could be done in Bali. Start from going to the beaches, exploring the countryside, going to a museum, going to the mall, bar and so on. If you are tired of doing that mainstream things, you could try to enrol yourself in to Bali Batik Class. Here, you will be able to learn all about the infamous Batik Bali.

The questions that are frequently asked in regard to Batik is that what is Batik? Actually, Batik is a method or technique (in which originally used in Java) to produce coloured patterns on textiles by dyeing them where there is should be a wax that is applied first to the parts which will be left “undyed”.

Basically, according to experts Batik was originally reserved as a form of arts for Javanese royalty due to a lot of the original patterns that were influenced by motifs which worn only by royalty from the Sultan’s Palace in DIY. Originally, the classical colour of Batik is made from plants and trees which only have three variations. The blue colour is made from Indigo plant, the brown is made from Soga tree, and the red one is made from Morinda Citrifolia.

Furthermore, here are some simple steps on how to make a batik that hopefully could spark your interest in making them on your own. Firstly, you need to draw your motifs on the muslin fabric, or you could pick the pre-made patterns of your choice instead of drawing it on your own. And then, draw wax over your patterns to part the colours before you start dyeing them. After that stamp your fabric with your preferred design.  And then, choose colours from the natural dyes colours palette. Next, paint on your design. And then, you need to dry your painting for about one hour. After it dried, you need to soak it to the cold water to bring out the colour, and then soak it in warm water to remove the excess wax, and soak it with cool water for one more time to lock the colour. Finally, your Batik Bali is done and completed.
