Batik Chemical Material

If we are talking about the process of making Batik, we can start by making a discussion about the chemical material used for the coloring process to make the Batik. There are a lot of chemicals that can be used to do the coloring. In general, it can be separated into two types, they are natural chemical and synthetic substances. The chemical coloring materials could produce various types of colors including bright colors, dark colors, and many other natural colors. If you are curious about the name of the chemical coloring materials, we are able to mention some of them for you. They are naphthol coloring, indigo sol coloring, portion coloring, base coloring, and rapid coloring. The chemical coloring materials that can be used for coloring Batik are naphthol coloring, indigo sol coloring, and portion coloring. Naphthol coloring material

The naphthol coloring material is commonly used for dyeing. Usually, you would need just about 10 grams of naphthol for two square meters of fabric, with the addition of 30 grams of diazo salt. If you are still confused, please do not to worry because here we will provide some examples. So, if you are planning to make a light blue color, you would need the naphthol, fixated with diazo blue b salt. If you are trying to produce the color pink, you would need the naphthol, fixated with diazo red r salt.

Indigo sol coloring material

As you might have already known, there are so many techniques of Batik coloring. Indigo sol coloring material is commonly used for Nyolet technique and the basic dyeing technique. Nyolet is the term used for coloring technique where you color only particular part of the Batik using a brush. using this technique, you would usually need at least 5 grams of indigo sol, dissolved into a half cup of warm water. If you are using the basic dyeing technique on approximately two square meters of fabric, you would need at least 20 grams of indigo sol, dissolved in about one to 2 liters of warm water.

Portion Coloring material Same as indigo sol coloring material, portion coloring material is also commonly used for Nyolet Batik coloring technique and basic dyeing technique. For the Nyolet technique, you would need 5 grams of portion coloring, 2 grams of baking soda, dissolved in about 30cc water. As for the basic Batik dyeing technique, you would need 20 grams of portion coloring, 10 grams of baking soda, and 2 liters of water.
